Miyako Odori is the famous seasonal feature, telling us the spring has come in such gorgeous way! The geisha and maiko (apprentices) of the Gion Kobu district perform traditional spring dances with live musical accompaniment.

2011's performance is featured by the famous Buddhism related temples such as 'Chionin', 'Nishi-Honganji', 'Higashi Honganji'.
Since 2011 marks the 800th Grand Memorial of the death of Honen Shonin who has founded Jodo sect of Buddhism.
